All new clients will start off with an hour long meeting with the therapists called a Social Abilities Assessment. This is their chance to connect, assess, and learn where the client will fall in the 3 C's group types: Cognition, Communication, and Connection. This assessment includes an online form to be completed by both the parents and the therapists after the assessment. This then serves as a baseline for the client. It also helps the team decide on the type of group they will fall into and allows them to set goals for amazing success in our program.
Clients are placed in one of the 3 types of groups: Cognition, Communication, or Connection. Our group structure complements the renowned CASEL Framework (Collaborative for Academic, Social, and Emotional Learning). Cognition groups work on self awareness & self regulation, Communication groups improve social awareness & relationship skills, and Connection groups help with executive functioning and independent living skills.
-Clients are not grouped based on age or diagnosis. They are based on a client's awareness level.
-Clients in groups may have: ADHD, Autism Spectrum Disorder, Anxiety, Social Pragmatic Disorder, Twice Exceptionality, etc.
-Clients are age 8 through adults.
-Clients MUST have average to above average speech and language skills.
-Our groups are 16 weeks long and we have 2 semesters a year starting in August and January.
-Groups meet for 1-2 hours a week in person at our office in Sanford, Florida.
-Each group has 4-6 students in it.
-Groups are off on the same weeks as the school system (Thanksgiving week, Winter Break, Spring Break)
Connect: Groups check in on their Moods using our 3 C's Approach and then go over the Success Plan and their goals for the session.
Group Goals: Group goals are integrated into the lessons for each session. Strategies are taught using Social/Emotional Communication tools and curriculums.
Game or Activity: There are 3 types of games played at 3 C's and all games are incorporated into the group goal each week. We play Communication, Collaborative, and Competitive Games each semester.
Reflection: Review what was learned in the session and discuss/reflect.
Parent Recaps: The therapists work closely with all of the families of clients in their Social Success Groups each semester. They meet with the parents in person a few times each semester to discuss ways to generalize the skills learned in group to the home setting. They end the semester with detailed reports and recommendations, as well as an award celebration for each group.
Parent H.O.P.E. Link: This link is a direct connect to the therapists of the client's group and is a way for parent's to relay both challenges and celebrations that have occurred that week. Parents are directly responded to by the therapy team.
3 C's Community Network: Parents are able to participate in our awesome online community. This is a place to find parent education, hot topics, group photos/videos, and much more.
